🔧 Step 1: Set up your recommendations
Use the Akawa app to create your add-on UI and enter the `override price` values. This tells the app what to display — and how much each add-on should cost.
👉 This app is fully compatible with Shopify Discounts, as well as other popular discount apps.
💸 Step 2: Apply your discount logic
To apply your add-on prices at checkout, set up a discount rule.
I recommend using Shopify’s “Buy X, Get Y” discount, but any discount app that modifies cart prices will work too.
- Buy X: Select the main product
- Get Y: Select the add-on product(s)
- Quantity: Use 1–20 rules if needed
- Discount type: Percentage (e.g. 20%)
✅ Customers will still see the correct add-on price in your shopping cart.
- Shopify’s built-in discount engine doesn’t support dynamic pricing for product add-ons.
- To simulate per-add-on pricing, I recommend creating multiple “Buy X Get Y” discount rules — each for a different quantity combination (e.g. Buy 1 Get 1, Buy 1 Get 2… up to Buy 1 Get 20).
- This is a workaround to reflect different cart totals while still showing the correct add-on price to customers.
